I managed to transfer the games published with Geoff McDonald’s emulator back onto the real hardware and use the cassette interface to save them as audio files. .wav files can be downloaded below by kind permission of Geoff. All are saved in Fast mode and it should be possible to load them into a Microtan by connecting the audio out of your PC to the cassette input of TANEX.

Astro Fighter

Move left and right with the cursor keys.  Left-Ctrl or Left-Shift to fire. Also works with a joystick.

Moon Cresta

Shoot the waves of alien ships.  Your ship is made of three stages, if you survive a level, you can dock with the next stage.  If you are successful, your ship will have additional fire power for the next waves.

Move left and right with the cursor keys.  Left-Shift to fire lasers and your engines while docking.  Left-Shift turns the tune on/off. Also works with a joystick.

Moon Rescue

Land your ship on a platform to rescue an astronaut.  Shoot your way past the flying saucers to dock with your mother ship.

Move left and right with the cursor keys.  Left-Shift to launch the rescue ship.  Left-Ctrl to slow descent and speed ascent – also fires a laser when ascending. Also works with a joystick.

Slot Machine

Press SPACE to start the reels.  if you get a nudge or hold, press 1, 2 or 3 to select a reel

If you get a 4th reel win, the 4th reel will spin.  If it stops on a 10, your winnings go up by 10p.  if it stops on a triangle, you win the total.  If it stops on a bar, you win nothing.

This version has been converted to only use uppercase text.

Gobbler

Move the Gobbler using A=up, Z=down, < = left, > = right (MUST be capitals).  Eat all the dots, avoid the ghosts and head for the exit!  After eating a power pill, you can eat ghosts for bonus points.

Once the game is loaded start with G400 and then hit any key.

Classic Space Invaders!   Shoot the hoards of alien invaders.  Shoot the mother ships for bonus points.

Lunar Lander

Defender

Kill all the aliens (surprise, surprise) to protect the humans.  If an alien kidnaps a human and gets it to the top of the screen, it is turned into a mutant.  The blobs at the top of the screen are a radar.  Catch the falling humans for bonus points.

Left shift is thrust, left Ctrl is fire, up/down to move up/down, right to change direction and left to fire smart bomb. Also works with a joystick.

Othello 2

This version of Othello was published in the June/July 1982 Edition of Tansoft Gazette. Hopefully typed in without errors…

It differs from the F Woodcock version in that you can play against teh computer.
